Mpumalanga Rubber offer industrial sandblasting, blasting to bare metal and priming services. Sandblasting is generally employed under three circumstances i.e.:
- Preparing substrate surfaces
- Cleaning surfaces in preparation for painting or
- Creating a surface effect or polish
Mpumalanga Rubber offer the following sandblasting services:
Sandblasting using Spherical Glass
Less aggressive on surfaces than angular abrasives, spherical glass bead abrasives are generally used for sandblasting aluminum and stainless steel material, bringing the surface to a satin polished finish as well as removing coatings, paint and corrosion. The grade of the glass bead will determine the eventual finish.
Stainless Steel Sandblasting
Unlike other blast media, spherical glass bead blasting does not create micro indentations to the blasted surface, creating only a polished finish which does not require any further finishing process, although depending on the grade of stainless, picking and passivation may sometimes be recommended.
Aluminum Sandblasting
Spherical Glass is ideal for Aluminium surfaces and Mpumalanga Rubber is one of the few organisations offering a comprehensive on-site Spherical Glass Sandblasting service in the Witbank and Middelburg areas as well as within Mpumalanga, Gauteng, Northern Province, Limpopo and Free State areas.
Micro Sandblasting
Mpumalanga Rubber also offer surface Micro blasting, employing S.A 2.5 material. This form of blasting is ideal for instances where minimal surface profile damage is required.
